The Light of Aman

How can I set to word

What I have seen

What I have heard

More lovely than the song of any bird

For I have seen the light of Aman.

Few were we on that night

Brave souls come to fight

We knew we were in the right

Though great was our plight

When I saw the light of Aman

The battle had not gone well

One by one our forces fell

The field of grass had become a hell

When I saw the light of Aman

Like the song of Angels on high

This light so sweet it made me cry

It must have come from heaven by and by

Behold it is the light of Aman

With tears did I behold

This light like love I wanted to hold

But it did fade into the cold

Such is the way of Aman.

Now I wait with bated breath

On my lips the word ELBARATH

And so I shall wait till my death

To behold again the light of Aman.

How can I set to word

All I have seen

All I have heard

More lovely than the song of any bird

For I have seen the light of Aman.
